I offer both short and long term counselling sessions. As there are no guarantees in counselling, I will work with the child or young person to help them overcome their issues by giving them coping strategies and other coping skills to be able to help themselves. It is totally up to the child or young person to how long each session lasts, how often they have the sessions and how many sessions they have. Therefore, if the child or young person does not want to attend sessions or feels like they no longer need sessions, I will speak to the parents/carer to let them know that their child or young person has decided not to continue. I do ask that the parents/carers do not ask why this has happened, as I will not break confidentiality between myself and my clients unnecessarily.
Sessions are held either on the telephone or online via WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams or Google Meets. Therefore, allowing you to be able to experience all the benefits of a face-to-face session but in the safety and comfort of your own home and environment.
For this you will need:
- Somewhere quiet and private, where you will not be interrupted
- Reliable and secure internet connection
- Webcam or smart phone with WhatsApp
- Headphones or microphone/speakers
- Telephone number that you can be contacted on

If you would like to see if we can work together, I offer an introductory 30 minute session free of charge either by telephone or online. This will allow us to identify your goals for therapy and how we can work together to help you achieve these goals in your sessions. The introductory 30 minute free session will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about counselling and what is involved.
For therapy to work, it is important that your child or young person feels comfortable and safe with me. Therefore, for children under the age of 16, I invite their parents or carer to attend the free 30 minute session for the first few minutes of the session. This will give you the chance to ask questions and voice any concerns that you may have about your child starting counselling sessions. However, after the parents or carer have asked their questions, I will be asking you to please allow time between me and your child so that the child has the opportunity to share their personal situations, identify and focus on key issues that they would like to work on. If the parents or carers’ of the child or a young person over the age of 16 requires to attend the free 30 minute session, please feel free to either call or email me beforehand so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
